My Take
Singh uses simple third-person subjective point-of-view from Hawke’s perspective as he expresses his feelings and we read his mind about missing his mate. Some of that “mind reading” is too funny, as Hawke reflects on the punishment he handed out to the unruly juveniles…and what he intends to do to the next one who irritates him, lol.
Talk about growly boy, *more laughter*
The Story
Hawke aches. He sulks. He scowls. Another two weeks of no Sienna. The pack will be lucky if they’re not all bitten or on latrine duty!
The Characters
Hawke is the Alpha for the SnowDancer pack of wolf changelings. Sienna is his mate.
Drew and Indigo are a couple of his lieutenants (Play of Passion, 9).
Kenji and Jem have their own dens within the SnowDancer pack and have skills to impart.
The Title
The title is “The Song of the Wolf” changelings, as they answer their alpha.
