My Take

This is probably my least favorite of the Pride series. Nothing to do with Laurenston’s writing but I cannot stand Blayne’s character. All the yapping and her total disregard for anyone else even if she does mean well. In some ways, she and that obsessive-compulsive bear-cat with an unhealthy need for lists and schedules are perfect for each other. Maybe they’ll mellow each other out.

It is fun to watch Blayne operate. Especially after she gets airlifted up to Ursus County after the attack. Everyone who loves Blayne is terrified the bears will go after her. After a few hours of Blayne tearing through town, all the bears adore her.

The Story

Most of her adult life, Blayne Thorpe has been running from Bo “The Marauder” Novikov ever since the first time he stared at her from the ice. Now he’s back and he won’t take no for an answer. He wants Blayne. He wants her in his bed, in his life. Forever. She’s his puck off the ice, and no one gets between Bo and his puck.

The Characters

Blayne Thorpe is a never-stops-yapping tiny wolfdog amazingly good with knives and no sense of direction or time. Her aim is to make the world one big happy place. No matter what anyone else wants. She is also a partner with Gwen in their plumbing business.

Bo Novikov is a 7-foot-1-inch, 387-lb. hybrid, part polar bear, part lion, and he lives, eats, and breathes hockey. Moving from team to team, championship to championship, Bo has landed back in New York with the Carnivores, the Van Holtzes’ hockey team.

Ric Van Holtz and Lock MacRyrie are Bo’s teammates, and they cannot stand Bo although they adore Blayne.

Dee-Ann plays a prominent role as Ric has assigned her to be Blayne’s shadow. Blayne’s name has been sold to whoever is running that fight club, and he refuses to lose Blayne. Dee-Ann cannot abide the yappy little wolfdog and does the [almost] unforgivable.

The Cover and Title

Gorgeous hunk on the cover. I know, however, that the guy is not supposed to represent Bo, ’cause, please, does he look like’ he’s over seven-feet tall and almost 400-pounds of muscle???

The title is accurate enough, for Bo is a Beast Behaving Badly.
