A standalone contemporary romance set in London.

My Take

There wasn’t a lot to choose from, and I was trapped waiting for an event to finish, so I figured I’d read a skinny little book. Thank god it was skinny.

I hated the female protagonist for her fear, her lack of grit, and refusal to face herself or her husband. I hated the male anti-hero?? for the contrast between his stupidity and his supposed intelligence. His “rape” attitude did NOT help.

The minor conflict in the story was the only truly believable part of this. The major conflict between Lindsay and Daniel was too lame for words and extremely poorly written. I’m certainly not interested in reading any more Lamb. Eating it with mint sauce, maybe.

The Story

When Lindsay discovered her brother was in a state of financial disaster, she was willing to do anything to help — or almost anything.

Daniel Randall was the one person who could rescue her brother, and he would — if she agreed to resume their marriage. “Everything has its price,” he said.

But Lindsay wasn’t about to be bought; she would never forget that the desire Daniel stirred within her led to heartache. Yet she couldn’t forget her brother, either.

This was blackmail!

The Characters

Lindsay Grainger divorced her jerk of a husband two years ago. Now she works at an advertising agency. Stephen is her brother and married to the docile Alice. They have two children: Matt and Vicky.

Daniel Randall, Lindsay’s ex-husband, is a force in the business world. Known for taking over businesses and stripping them. Meriel is his jerk of a sister. Mrs. Henshaw is his housekeeper.

Aston Hill owns a chain of electronics shops and is in love with Lindsay.

Chris is Lindsay’s immediate boss at the advertising agency. Charles is in charge. Mr. Datchet is Stephen’s accountant at his factory.

The Cover and Title

The cover has a cream background with a circular inset double framed with gold lines. Inside is a skyline collage of buildings in London with Daniel assuming a dominant grab on the submissive Lindsay.

The title is what rages inside Lindsay, The Sex War.
