Two toolbars are referred to throughout this tutorial:

Primary toolbar
Located in the Contribute menu bar

Toolbar
Located on the floating dialog box
This toolbar changes according to the current activity

Working with Tables

This section discusses creating and modifying tables, adding a row or column, merging cells, and editing table properties.

Creating and Modifying Tables

The following explains how to:

  • Insert a table
  • Add a row or a column
  • Merge cells
  • Change properties for table, cell, row, or column

Other table tips include:

  • The tab and arrow keys permit the user to move between cells
  • Center (on toolbar) center-aligns text

Create a table

  • Your key may restrict you to only altering text
  1. Insert cursor where new table is wanted
  2. Click Table (primary toolbar)
    1. Insert
    2. Choose the number of rows and columns
    3. Choose other desired properties
    4. Header / No Header
  3. Click OK

Add a row or column

  • If you can't make any changes you probably need to click Edit Page (toolbar)
  1. Click Edit Page (on toolbar)
  2. Insert cursor in the first cell of the last row/column (where you want to make a change)
  3. Insert a Row:
    1. Insert Row Below (on toolbar)
    2. Type contents, if required
  4. Insert a Column:
    1. Click Table (on primary toolbar)
    2. Insert Column to the Right
    3. Type contents, if required

Merge Cells

  1. Use your cursor to select any rectangle of cells
  2. Click Table (on primary toolbar)
  3. Merge Cells
