My Take

Lord, Laurenston has the wickedest sense of humor with the craziest character interaction! The story is also all sex— the attraction and the doing— thinly wrapped around a plot. And, yes, there is a plot. But the attraction is the humor and interaction with a group of great, caring, and supportive characters. With men and women who are alphas. It’s a nice twist that Laurenston provides giving us dominant men and women who interact with each other with love, loyalty, and encouragement.

Angie, Sara, and Miki have this amazing relationship. They curse, they swear, they pick at each others’ sore spots, and are so incredibly supportive of each other. Even when that support wears so very thin…

An excellent example of Laurenston’s sense of humor and the girls’ relationship:

“Angelina was silent…’But you do know that a vibrator can’t really be your boyfriend.’

Miki dropped her head into her hands. ‘I will not discuss Mr. Happy with the likes of you.'”

Then there’s the feistiness, when the Viga-Feilan Pack, which includes his asshole cousins, Einarr and Gudrun, make a negative play on Miki and find the tables turned on them…snicker…I do love these girls! There’s Conall grabbing Gudrun while Einarr grabs Conall to make him let Gundrun go until Miki shows up with a broken bottle. Held up tight against Einarr. Between his legs. Very willing to share her experience castrating horses.

The Story

Miki is ready to present her dissertation and her “supposed” friends are driving her nuts! What is with them!?? Neither Sara nor Angie will let up on pushing Conall down her throat! The condoms in her suitcase with a note from Angie. Sara sending her to the wrong room— Conall’s room. The constant chatter…argh!!!

Part of the attraction for Conall is mean. Miki is so damn mean it really turns Conall on and when she gets threatened, there is no way that Conall is letting her go on to Seattle without protection. Him.

Turns out to be a good idea. The protection. For some reason, there’s an unknown pack after her…and it won’t be good.

The Characters

Miki Kendrick is a genius and an avid reader. Especially of facts and criminal activities. Any kind of activities that may hurt her or her best friends, Sara Morrighan and Angelina Santiago. They’ve looked out for each other since grade school. — I can’t wait to see what Sara and Miki do to Angie!. Miki is also mouthy as hell…

“…And calling someone a ‘little midget’ is redundant. Midget implies little…I’m sorry, should I speak slower? Perhaps sound out words for you?”

…and incredibly attracted to one of the wolves in her best friend’s Pack. An attraction she is fighting like mad.

Conall Viga-Feilan is a “direct descendent of the Viking Overlord Sven Viga-Feilan and the Viga-Feilan Pack“. A Pack with which he wants no interaction. Now Miki, with Miki, Conall wants all kinds of interaction. He wants her so bad and he’s taking so damn many cold showers that Zach is gonna flip when he sees the water bill.

Zach Sheridan is the alpha for the Magnus Pack and madly in love with Miki’s best friend, Sara, the perfect alpha mate for him, for the Pack. And Zach just hates Miki — that mouth, too short, and too mean.

Craig, Amy Bitter, Kenny Liu, and Ben Klein are Miki’s geeky Seattle pals. Hard drinkers. Hard gamers. And hackers in whom the FBI are still very interested.

Professor Irene Conridge has been Miki’s adviser and will be one of her examiners on the panel. Turns out she’s also married to Niles Van Holtz. Of the Van Holtz Pack.

The Cover and Title

Whoa…well, the background is of a forest with a white wolf, his body in profile, looking back over his shoulder. In the forefront is a way overly-muscled man— there’s something growing out of his armpit! Eeek.

The title is too perfect for words since one of its main characters is Miki Kendrick. The woman has an unregulated mouth that simply cannot resist treating the wolves like dogs. Between the “walkies”, “sit”, “stay”, and the inevitable Go Fetch!
