I enjoy short story collections. Mind you, I didn’t for the longest time, but I’ve come to appreciate them for a number of reasons:
- Holds me over until the next novel in a series is published
- Fills in background on a character or event in a series
- Introduces me to a new series or author
- Sometimes, I’m just in the mood for short and sweet
Of course, it is so useful if I can actually find the short story.
So, what’s the deal with announcing that so-and-so has a new short story out but not telling us where we can actually find it? Isn’t that sort of the point for all these book sites? To promote the book, alert the reader so they can actually…gasp…find the story to read it??
Or am I just being naive?
