Fourth in the Colters’ Legacy erotic romance series based in Clyde, Colorado in the Rocky Mountains. The couple focus is mostly on Lily with her men — Dillon, Michael, and Sean. A secondary focus is on Holly with her men — Ryan, Ethan, and Adam along with Callie Colter and her husband Max Wilder.

My Take

Sweet, but very short. More of a bridge novel with everyone settling in. It’s not about sex, although, with three “couples”, two of whom are composed of one woman and three men, sex is a given. It is, however, loving and gentle. Primarily, the story is about support and reassurance.

Lily is making her men a bit nuts with her reaction to her new status which Banks goes on and on and on about, BUT, I suspect it is a perfectly natural reaction for a woman who has suffered as she has. She’s lucky in the love her men have for her.

The Story

Everyone’s settling in on the mountain with the only two hiccups being Lily’s reaction to some initially very unwelcome news and the abuse Lauren is undergoing. The second is easily solved when Callie gets involved while the first takes more time and a lot more lovin’.

Just an ordinary autumn in a family who loves.

The Characters

Lily Colter is an artist with a sad past (see Colters’ Lady) and an amazing love married to three brothers: Seth is the sheriff in Clyde, Michael is a veterinarian, and Dillon runs a pub.

Callie Colter Wilder is the Colters’ baby sister. Married now to a very wealthy man, Max Wilder, who loves to dominate her (Colters’ Daughter). Fortunately, Callie loves to submit. Lauren is Max’s sister, his only surviving family. And she has a bad history of bad choices.

Holly Colter is the boys’ mother. And thirty years of marriage later, she and her men — Adam, Ryan, and Ethan—are still ecstatically happy and in love.

The Cover and Title

It’s a sweet cover of Callie’s Meadow and a young couple holding each other as though they were dancing, filling the sky. There’s a spring feel to it even if the vegetation is more fall-like.

The title is a metaphor, the Colters’ legacy, the Colters’ Promise of love, support, of family.
