My Take

Ooh, boy, this one is from Finn’s jealous perspective, angry over this new intrusion into his life, and Estep gives us a ton of information in this short story. Well worth the read.

“The milkshake suddenly felt like poison as Finn considered Fletcher’s decision to bypass him.”

The Story

“Gin” has been with the Lanes for a few weeks now, and Finn is hating every minute of it. Fletcher on the other hand is determined that he will teach her his “other” trade.

The Characters

Gin” is the name she takes for herself; “Blanco” is the one Fletcher Lane, a master assassin and her mentor, gives her. It’s her protective reactions and follow-through, her patience that indicate her future.

Finn Lane is already a flirt and so very selfish already.

Sophia Deveraux is a Goth through and through and cooking at Fletcher’s Pork Pit, a contrast to her sister Jo-Jo. Both had a hand in raising Finn.

Douglas is one of Fletcher’s disgruntled clients, and the reason Fletcher thinks Gin can handle it. Blake is one of the three vampires who make a bad decision,

The Title

The title is what Finn’s life feels like now, “Poison” since that stupid, silent girl came into his life.
