My Take

This story is from Finn’s perspective and we finally get a peek in at where he works. For money. Um, wait, where he works for legitimate money. No, wait, I mean where he has a legitimate job and gets a paycheck. Yeah, yeah, that’s what I meant.

Fun little tie-in with Estep’s Bigtime series.

It’s also another perspective on Finn as Estep reveals more of his character. Nothing we haven’t see before in the full-length stories, but a treat to read just the same. Poor baby, Finn takes such a hit to his ego.

The Story

Hot. She is so hot, and the perfect combination for Finn’s interest. Rich, beautiful, and a woman. Well, just being a woman would be enough for Finn, and he’s never failed to attract a woman he smiles at. Until now.

There’s got to be a reason she’d reject him, and it sets Finn on the hunt.

The Characters

Clarissa Divine is a hot, sexy, rich-looking vampire who walks in. Clarissa Devane, however, is one sick woman.

Finn Fletcher is an investment banker and senior associate at the First Trust of Ashland. He’s also Gin Blanco’s brother at heart. Fletcher Lane was Finn’s dad. Gin Blanco is a newly retired assassin known as the Spider, and she runs the Pork Pit, a barbecue restaurant she inherited from Fletcher.

Pete is a stock analyst for the bank; Dave is his partner. Celia is one of the tellers. Andrew Stevens is the bank manager. Sucker.

Xavier is a giant, a bouncer at Northern Aggression, and an Ashland PD cop with a problem. Roslyn Phillips is a vampire madam who runs Northern Aggression, a nightclub — and she and Xavier are getting involved.

Jo-Jo Deveraux is a dwarf who runs a popular beauty salon while her sister B cooks at the Pork Pit and gets rid of dead bodies.

The Title

The title is Finn’s regret over the woman, so “Wasted”.
