The Stories

This is What I Want” has me in a conflict. I like the scenario. It’s different. A woman blogging about her D/s fantasies — with a lot of scenarios, lol — and the real focus of her dreams. Only she finds out who he is and it’s a major switch.

One hiccup for me was that comment about the guy’s suit costing more than some people’s car payments. According to several websites, the average car payment is around $475. That’s not an expensive suit, and it immediately set up an image in my mind of a cheap guy. Killed my mood. No, not because I thought the guy was cheap for buying a suit in this price range, but because Hart set me up to think he was rich. That price range does not say rich to me.

Indecent Experiment” is too cute for words. Talk about a twist on the romance! It’s a psychology experiment about sex, and I’d be curious if you can see between the lines! Too funny. I did expect Matt and Melissa to figure that one out, but their emotional changes over the nights of the experiment were well worth the read.

Everything Changes” is Alex’s perspective on events in Tempted, 1, and does provide a bit of background on the sale of his company that he mentions in Naked, 2. It’s rather annoying in that I can’t tell if Jamie is also bisexual, and Hart flips back and forth with the innuendo, leaving me hanging. Not a biggie, but it does prey on my mind. I do like to know everything about the characters I read. As for the actual story. Well, it didn’t tell me the story I was expecting. I know it’s supposed to be from Alex’s point-of-view, so of course the story would be different. I simply hadn’t expected it to be this different. It made me want to re-read Tempted to figure out where I was missing it. Nor did it answer the questions raised in Naked. Ah well…

Layover” is another cute story with a woman stranded at the airport who hooks up with a man she’s been obsessing about since she first met him at a teamwork workshop. I like Hart’s twist on this. It’s a very subtle dominance and submission pursuit with a long lead-up, but a good read.

The Cover and Title

The cover is quite peaceful, an exotic white flower with long slender petals stabbing into the black background. The author’s name is in white while the main title is in a deep pink and “volume 1” is in a paler pink.

The title is rather generic but accurate, for it is An Erotic Collection in Volume 1.
