A short story, 1.25 in the Sidewinder spin-off (and 7.6 in the Cut & Run Universe) LGBT romantic suspense series and revolving around Ty Grady and Zane Garrett — and Ty’s Force Recon team. In Sidewinder, the focus is on Nick O’Flaherty and Kelly Abbott with this story taking place in Baltimore.

My Take
It’s a brief peek in on Kelly and Zane while the team is off on a mission and uses third person point-of-view from Nick’s perspective.
This tale comes after Kelly talks Nick into that kiss while Nick is babysitting him in Colorado (Shock & Awe, 1 (C&R, 7.5)) after events in New Orleans.
It’s pretty heated sexually as Kelly experiences a few firsts. And is terrified to talk to Nick.
It wasn’t the deal.
It also introduces that camera that Kelly loves so much, lol.
Zane gets a bit of news in this about Ty, makes a welcome discovery about Nick, and forges a new relationship with Kelly.
The Story
It’s a sweet bit of friendship when Nick shows up, in uniform, at Zane’s door with a letter.
A visit with more welcome when Kelly shows up.
The Characters
Special Agent Zane Garrett is FBI and missing his partner, Special Agent Ty Grady, who is in the wind with his Force Recon team. Ty is now a captain.
Force Recon is/was…
…a team of six Marines and Navy, now down to five. Nick “Irish” O’Flaherty is now a master sergeant along with the Cajun, Digger. Owen Johns was put into Naval Intelligence. Turns out, each man on this particular mission is on their own. Kelly “Doc” Abbott is their corpsman with some Ute in his background, although he wasn’t in any shape to join the team on this mission after events in Touch & Geaux, 7.
Chiapparelli’s is Zane’s favorite Italian restaurant in Baltimore. Ryan is a cute waiter there of whom Ty is jealous.
The Title
The title is Nick not taking the time to change, to Kelly’s emotions at the end in this “Bait & Switch”.
