I received this book for free from the library in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.Source: the library Bumble-Ardyby Maurice Sendak fantasy, picture book in Hardcover edition that was published by HarperCollins on April 5, 2013 and has 40 pages.Explore it on Goodreads or Amazon Other books by this author which I have reviewed include Where the Wild Things Are, Chicken Soup with Rice: A Book of Months, In the Night KitchenOriginally an animated Sesame Street animated short created by Maurice Sendak and Jim Henson, it’s the first all-Sendak story since his last story, Outside Over There in 1981. My Take The introducing pages are cute with the soft pastel graphics Sendak has created. I especially enjoyed the one in which Bumble-Ardy is exploding out of a calendar with that “well” *grin*. I’m also enjoying the rhythm and rhyme of the story. Be warned, there is a rather gruesome explanation of why Bumble-Ardy hasn’t had a birthday party for the previous eight years. Yum! You absolutely MUST read all the signs the characters carry or wear. And it’s definitely, oh, yes, most definitely a great opportunity […]
A patient Gram and her spirited grandson follow the cycle of the seasons as they savor the shared joy of growing things.
It’s a wealth of dreaming and leaping and jousting as the circus parade wends and winds it way through this children’s picture book tale from Dr. Seuss.
A colorfully imaginative fishing expedition that follows a pool to its possible source with all the fishy possibilities.
Mickey becomes a hero as he saves the day In the Night Kitchen and ensures that all will have cake in the morning.
It’s The Cat in the Hat visiting the dog show to explore how dog breeds are different in this nonfiction picture book for kids.
A gorgeous (and sophisticated) book on color and emotions that will appeal to children and adults. It also provides a safe leaping-off point for children to discuss their emotions with mom and dad.
