Other books by this author which I have reviewed include Undone, Ghost Town, Rachel Caine, Bite Club, Dark and Stormy Knights, Devil's Bargain, Devil's Due, Last Breath, Unseen, Hex Appeal, Unbroken, Black Dawn, Working Stiff, Two Weeks' Notice, Bitter Blood, Kiss of Death, Fall of Night, Daylighters, Kicking It, Prince of Shadows, Ink and Bone, Paper and Fire, Ash and Quill, Killman Creek, Honor Among Thieves, Smoke and Iron, Honor Bound, Honor Lost

Second in the Outcast Season urban fantasy series, a spin-off from Caine’s Weather Warden series, revolving around a jinn, Cassier and Luis, a Weather Warden.

My Take

Not as dramatic as Undone but still very good. Cassiel and Luis reach a valuable working partnership that is upset by insidious betrayals on both sides as they struggle to rescue the children and prevent yet more kidnappings. On a personal note, Cassiel discovers the value of human emotions while uncovering the djinn she used to be to Luis.
