Book Review: Emma Holly’s Heat of the Night

Heat of the Night

by

Emma Holly

erotica, paranormal romance in a paperback edition that was published by Berkley on January 2, 2007 and has 357 pages.

Explore it on Goodreads or Amazon

Other books by this author which I have reviewed include In the Flesh, Devil at Midnight, Beyond the Dark, Three to Tango, Hidden Talents, Hidden Crimes, Winter's Tale, Hot Blooded, Beck & Call

I think Holly got a brainstorm to write this one, as she’s tucked this combined novel and short story in between the second and the third in the Midnight erotic paranormal romance series.

“Night Owl” is also found in Hot Blooded

My Take
Filled with empathic characters, Hunting Midnight continues on with Ulric desperately trying to fill the gap in his heart after losing Gillian when he encounters Juliana who is desperate to escape an arranged marriage. Juliana blackmails Ulric into helping her and we follow their adventures on their run to Scotland and Ulric’s pack where Hunting Midnight continues on with Ulric desperately trying to fill the gap in his heart after losing Gillian when he encounters Juliana who is desperate to escape an arranged marriage. Juliana blackmails Ulric into helping her and we follow their adventures on their run to Scotland and Ulric’s pack where they have still more adventures. Holly does a nice job of “rehabilitating” Ulric after his poor showing in Catching Midnight.

“Night Owl” takes place 700 years later when Ulric banishes his French upyrs, Bastien and Emile, to America where the two buy an inn in Vermont and Bastien encounters a passionate baker who is harassed by an ex-best friend after her grandfather’s recipes.
