My Take

Oh boy! And we thought Bones’ death in At Grave’s End, 3 was bad…! Bones finally gets so pissed off at Cat that he leaves her. Duels to the death. Kidnappings.

The Story

Cat Crawfield and Bones have fought against the rogue undead, battled a vengeful Master vampire, and pledged their devotion with a blood bond. Now it’s time for a vacation. But their hopes for a perfect Paris holiday are dashed when Cat awakes one night in terror. She’s having visions of a vampire named Gregor who’s more powerful than Bones and has ties to her past that even Cat herself didn’t know about.

Gregor believes Cat is his and he won’t stop until he has her. As the battle begins between the vamp who haunts her nightmares and the one who holds her heart, only Cat can break Gregor’s hold over her. She’ll need all the power she can summon in order to bring down the baddest bloodsucker she’s ever faced.

The Characters

Cat Crawfield is a half-vampire government agent working for Homeland Security, in a roundabout way. Bones is her vampire lover, and they’ve been together for the past six years.

Gregor “the Dreamsnatcher” is a vampire who believes he is Cat’s husband, but whom Mencheres imprisoned years ago.

The Cover and Title

That’s our Cat! Cocky, confident with one stiletto-heeled, boot-clad leg stepping down on someone’s grave imperiously staring down at the lid. Dressed to thrill with her midriff-baring black top, leather jacket, and skintight pants. I can certainly see why Cat’s so successful at enticing vampires to their doom!

The title may well be a result of all that power Cat gets, for it may find her Destined for an Early Grave.
