A free bit of sudden fiction in a crossover story — 0.002 in the Jane Yellowrock paranormal fantasy and somewhere in the Thieftaker Chronicles series. The focus is on Hannah Everhart and Ethan Kaille.

If you’re interested, there is a chronological listing of the Jane Yellowrock books on my website.

My Take

“Explosion On King’s Street” makes no sense, as it doesn’t carry on in a logical fashion from “Water Witch“.

It reads more like an “oops, we forgot to put this in somewhere — let’s throw it out there, so we get it off the table”. It certainly doesn’t fit in “Water Witch” except for the characters. Hmmm, maybe they just forgot to publish the whole bit…?

Hunter/Coe/Jackson is using a third person protagonist point-of-view from Hannah’s perspective. Not that it actually matters.

I’m so not impressed.

The Story

It must be Hannah’s compassion in treating Nap’s wound that causes him to confess…

The Characters

Hannah Everhart is a witch and a thief.

Ethan Kaille is a conjurer and a thieftaker, who had originally been sent to arrest Hannah.

Nap Drayton‘s injury would have drained dozens. He’s a thug for Sephira Pryce, another thieftaker.

The Title

I have absolutely no idea where the title, “Explosion On King’s Street”, comes from.
