Book Review: Maya Banks’ Cherished

Series “Sway” (Delicious, 1) An anthology of two short stories involving dominance and submission with a theme of being cherished. The Stories Maya Banks’ “Exiled” is a weird cross between romantic and clinical. The concept is wildly romantic while the execution reads more like a storyboard for a movie. Even though Banks is telling me that the character is cherished, I just ain’t feelin’ it. Lauren Dane’s “Sway” has a cute concept with the gorgeous, lively, and giving Hispanic artist completely involved in her life, her friends, and her family, getting caught up with a repressed, unhappy lawyer. This too has a clinical feel to it. Dane has such a great story idea and hasn’t spent the time to develop this and make it great. This was disappointing at the finish. The Cover and Title The cover is a crotch shot of a woman lying down in black bikini panties and a red satin top with her hands bound in front of her. The title reflects the theme of these two novellas, Cherished.
