My Take

Ooh, boy! A lot of resolution occurring in Succubus Shadows. Break-ups, discoveries, revelations, and death. It’s so bittersweet with the hopes and disappointments and, in one case, so incredibly sad. A sadness, however, that proves a lightening for one of our primary characters. Erik however provides us with a bit of hope at the end. A hope that perhaps the dream Nyx had shown Georgina really might have a chance of coming true. I wonder if it’s why Carter has been so involved…

The Story

Some things are working out for Georgina. Her condo is great even if her roommate is a bit of a pain. It’s even more of a pain when she learns how he really feels about her…it was so much easier when he simply wanted to kill her. But all the excitement about Seth and Maddie’s wedding, a visiting succubus who seems to have it in for Seth, her discovery that still another old boyfriend still loves her sends Georgina spiraling into depression leaving her wide open for this particular kind of kidnapping.

And her kidnappers take the opportunity to torture her with real events from her past and present as well as distorting events. So much, so often that Georgina can no longer tell real from false as her mind veers from hope to despair.

The Character

Almost everyone from earlier stories shows up here, each with their part to play. Each with their own revelation regarding Georgina. True or false, it’s up to the Oneroi as to how most of it plays out.

The Cover and Title

The cover is very Georgina with her red-violet dress and the form-fitting, very feminine black leather jacket done half-way up corset-style. A very misty Seattle forms the background with a huge moon framing Georgina’s head. The title, Succubus Shadows is truly appropriate for the dreams Georgina experiences are dark shadows on her psyche.
