My Take
This shortie is primarily an exchange of text messages between Curran and Kate, with those tomatoes the opening salvo to what Curran really wants to know.
It’s lucky for everyone that Kate is a walking encyclopedia of myth and monsters, lol. Even better that Conlan is so curious and capable, lol.
Of course, Kate is concerned that Conlan is spending too much time with his grandfather. All that lecturing. I doubt it was what the kludde had expected.
The Story
Ya know how kids are always getting into things? Yeah, like that. For Conlan is conversing with a monster borne of a stagnant pool in the Cape Fear River.
The Characters
Kate Daniels, a one-woman wrecking crew, is married to Curran Lennart, the former Beast Lord of the Pack of Atlanta. Conlan is their precocious son.
The Title
The title is all about that poor kludde “Getting Distracted”.
