My Take
Well, I could have done without all the whining on and on about what an asshole Nathan/Noah is and Nathan’s moaning and groaning about how he can’t come back to Sabella…and thank god Noah finally saw the light in the end. At least now he’ll shut up and Sabella will get what she deserves…lucky girl!
Noah has insisted that no one tell his wife that he survived. That no one in his family other than Jordan know. Naturally, that all goes to hell although it does enable Noah and Nik to get hired on as mechanics at the garage. A move that has the volatile Sabella very pissed off and shows Noah a whole ‘nother side to his lovely, little wife.
It doesn’t help Noah that ne member after another of the BCM has been trying to get into Sabella’s pants and take the garage over…and, so far, no luck. That Belle is a feisty, little thing.
Lotsa action…in bed and out. If you like a dominant guy and a feisty lady, this is a series you’ll want to read.
The Story
It’s time for the Elite Ops to step in and take down the Black Collar Militia; too many undercover FBI agents are dying, and law enforcement organizations are leaking like a sieve.
And too many people are going missing.
The Characters
Sabella Malone had been Nathan’s wife for two years when he “died” and is now working Malone Service and Repair with Rory Malone, Nathan’s half-brother while Toby is a young kid working in the garage’s office, tending the pumps and the convenience store.
Nathan Malone was caught while rescuing Risa Clay and Emily Stanton from a really nasty drug lord, Diego Fuentes, down in Columbia. Held for 18 months, Nathan was beaten to a pulp, injected with an experimental drug, and tortured (yeah, being beaten and tortured in this case are two different things).
Jordan Malone is the commander of the Elite Ops unit and he seems to be the Tempting SEALs commander as well. Ian Richardson is just under Jordan, rank-wise. Nik Steele works at the garage with Noah while Travis Caine is doing surveillance on one of the ranchers. Micah Sloane and John Vincent play drifters lying doggo in the background, picking up information. Durango Team is backup with Reno Chavez, Clint McIntyre, and Macey.
Kira Richardson has become friends with Sabella; her husband, Ian, and Nathan were best friends before he was imprisoned. Sienna is married to Rick Grayson, Alpine’s sheriff. Noah Blake is working at the Malone garage.
The Black Collar Militia (BCM) is…
…a terrorist organization based in Alpine, Texas, and intend to take over Malone’s garage for their own highly illegal and reprehensible activities.
The Cover and Title
Okay, I’m of two minds on the cover. Yes, the bare chest of the guy on the cover is hot and I like the blue-on-blue camouflage-y pattern of the background. But I just don’t feel like the guy is Irish and he’s got this weird poochy thing going on with his right pants pocket…
The title is certainly appropriate since Wild Card is Nathan’s operational handle.
