My Take

Obviously, Banks doesn’t want to spend much time in developing her story. She leaps right into the brothers seeing the girl and they immediately want her. The girl, of course, has very few compunctions about the relationship the three sons want with her and leaps right in with them. It’s all sweetness and light with a bit of a confrontation thrown in that doesn’t really pan out. Just so we can have a purpose for writing the story. Well, besides the erotic implications of all three men making love to Lily.

I’d’a thought that having one mom and three dads (see Colters’ Woman), that somewhere along the way, the boys would have gotten some idea of how to do this three-way thing, but obviously mom and the dads kept things on the down low. Maybe the boys will get better at it as time goes by.

The Story

Lily is a homeless woman whom Seth encounters when he’s working at Maggie’s Place, a soup kitchen in Denver. Not understanding why he’s attracted to her, Seth talks her into coming home with him. The next day, brother Michael shows up and is also immediately attracted. When they take her home to the family, brother Dillon is also. Immediately attracted to her. Needless to say, Lily is also. Immediately attracted to all three of ’em. With extremely few questions or qualms about it. The one attraction that does make sense is their parents’ warm welcome of Lily. Holly, their mother, is just thrilled that the boys have found someone while the dads, Ethan, Adam, and Ryan, are also content.

The Characters

They are all rather medium characters. Don’t get me wrong, they’re all sweet and lovely people whom I would enjoy having in my own family, but when it comes to a story, you want a bit more bite.

The Cover and Title

Its consistent with the first full novel in the series: a stream rushing through a valley with a mountain backdrop on the bottom of the cover while one of the brothers is embracing Lily in the top half. The title is accurate enough even if it is a rather dull choice.
