My Take
Singh captures the twins beautifully, lol. You can’t help but smile…and my eyes teared up at how cute the boys were. Of course, it does help that Sascha and Lucas so love that new baby of theirs!
I do so enjoy Singh’s vignettes that provide a behind-the-scenes peek in at various characters in the series, a slice of their everyday lives.
Do be aware that these short stories make more sense if you’ve been reading the series all along, especially when it comes to a comment such as “to live in a pack that showed affection with … openness”. The poignancy of Sascha’s thought — Singh is using third person protagonist point-of-view — becomes more emphatic when you know what her background was.
Speaking of background, Singh provides a wee bit of back history of one of Lucas’, ahem, naughty moments, lol. It makes me want to read more about Naya’s future with her mischievous friends!
“Naya’s Most Important Visitors” is an excellent example of what I so adore about Singh’s Psy-Changeling series with the love and support its characters have for each other. When you read Rome and Jules’ explanation of their gift for Naya…well, you’ll want to cry AND wish more parents were so amazing.
The Story
Roman and Julian, twin leopard cubs, have been talking to Naya in the womb for months now, and they can finally meet her in person.
The Characters
Nadiya “Naya” is Sascha and Lucas‘ newborn baby. Sascha is a cardinal Psy mated to Lucas, the alpha panther of the DarkRiver pack of leopards.
Julian and Roman Ryder are twin cubs. Their mother, Tamsyn “Tammy“, is the pack healer. Nate is her mate, a senior sentinel in the pack.
The Title
The title speaks the truth, for “Naya’s Most Important Visitors” will be a part of her life, all her life.
