My Take
This was sooo sweet! It’s third person protagonist point-of-view from Lucas’ perspective as he reflects (and acts) on how much he loves his mate and his daughter.
Singh also reflects on Sascha’s past, her unhappy childhood and how it has affected her relationship with her daughter. I can certainly understand how she feels.
As for Naya, oh . . . she’s such a happy little girl with loving parents.

The Story
A morning wake-up grants Lucas the opportunity to watch his mate sleep, reflecting on how much he loves her.
The Characters
Lucas, a panther, is the alpha of the Dark River cats in the San Francisco-Bay Area. Sascha is his Psy mate, an empath. Naya is their two-year-old daughter who loves to shift.
The Title
The title reflects Lucas’ “Mate”.
