A free short story that is a standalone science fiction romance, not part of any of Singh’s series.
My Take
Ohh, I cried. This was so sweet. Such a dedicated young man who knew what he wanted. Always holding faith that he would see her again.
It was also so sad with all those fearful people ignoring a girl because they were afraid of what they didn’t know, of what they thought could happen. Even the cops are jerks in this.
Mac was the only one who saw Cass as a person. To be fair, his mother did eventually came around.
We know all this from third person protagonist point-of-view from Mac’s perspective, as we age through the years with him.
Love is having faith…
The Story
The song says that love will keep us together; it will at least keep one young man on track to, hoping to finally marry his one and only love.
The Characters
Mac “Mad Mac” Tanner was six the first time he saw Cass. Ginny is/was his sister.
Cass Hamilton was ten. She’s what people called a Keeper with a gift as a Dreamer. Her parents work in outer space, so Cass lives with her grandma and poppa.
Jim-Bob and Maisie were two of the people whose predicaments were blamed on Cass.
I don’t really understand what Keepers are, other than that they appear to have great powers and live forever.
The Title
The title is the problem, for Cass is “Star Kissed”.
